Delete Your Zeteo Account
Last updated: July 2026
Overview
This page explains how to delete your Zeteo account (operated by Zeteo Technologies Inc.) and its associated data. You can request deletion directly in the app or by emailing us. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Delete in the App (Recommended)
The fastest way to delete your account is directly inside Zeteo:
- Open the app and go to Settings.
- Scroll down and tap Delete Account.
- Tap Continue on the confirmation screen.
- Type DELETE in the confirmation field, then tap Delete My Account.
Completing these steps immediately disconnects your linked bank accounts and signs you out of the app. Removal of your personal and financial data is initiated at that point and completed within 30 days (see Timeline below).
Important:if you have an active Zeteo Premium subscription, cancel it first — see “Before You Delete” below — or billing will continue.
Request Deletion Without the App
If you no longer have access to the app, email us at privacy@zeteoapp.com from the email address on your Zeteo account. We will verify your identity and complete the request within 30 days.
Before You Delete — Cancel Your Subscription
Zeteo Premium is billed by the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android), not by Zeteo directly. Deleting your Zeteo account does not cancel or refund an active subscription — you must cancel it separately or billing will continue.
To cancel before deleting your account:
- iOS: Go to Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → select Zeteo and cancel. Apple support article
- Android: Open the Play Store → tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → select Zeteo and cancel. Google Play support article
What Gets Deleted
When your account is deleted, we remove:
- Your transactions and transaction history
- Your linked bank accounts and Plaid connections
- Your budgets and forecasts
- Your custom categories and categorization rules
- Your Zeteo Premium subscription record within Zeteo. Note: your App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) purchase history, and any subscription record managed by RevenueCat, remain subject to Apple's, Google's, and RevenueCat's own retention terms — see our Privacy Policy for details on RevenueCat's role.
- Your push notification and device tokens
- Your profile (anonymized rather than retained in identifiable form)
What We Keep, and Why
To protect other members of shared groups, entries you created in a shared group ledger are anonymized rather than erased — for example, a shared expense that determines what someone else owes. Unsettled group debts that affect other members remain recorded in reduced, de-identified form. Anonymized or aggregated data that cannot be linked back to you may be retained for service improvement purposes.
See our Privacy Policy §9 (Group Data, Shared Records, and People You Invite) for full details on how shared-record deletion works.
Timeline
After your account is deleted, your personal and financial data is removed from our active database within 30 days. Encrypted backup copies maintained by our infrastructure provider (Supabase/AWS) may persist for up to an additional 30 days beyond that date before being permanently purged as part of the backup rotation cycle.
